Co-create a better Mission Beach by running for a position on the Mission Beach Town Council

The Mission Beach Town Council will hold its annual elections in November. You must hold a valid membership no later than Oct.11, to be eligible to vote at the November elections. By running for a volunteer position on the Mission Beach Town Council, you can add your voice and experience to our community. Whether you're a resident, a business owner in Mission Beach, or a property owner in Mission Beach.


Now is your opportunity to GIVE BACK to your community. Become a part of what makes our unique Mission Beach neighborhood thrive, and make positive contributions to our community.


Being part of the Board of Directors is an incredibly rewarding experience. You get the opportunity to serve your community, meet others in your neighborhood, and have your voice heard on important issues affecting our community.


The nominations for this year's election will close on Oct. 14. This year’s election will be held on Nov. 11.


The board is made up of eight Officer positions including the past president position which is not elected.


Elected officer positions are:

President

First Vice President

Vice President at Large

Public Communications and Media officer

Membership Officer

Treasurer

Secretary


To serve as an Officer you must have been a member in good standing by Aug. 1, and to be eligible for President or First VP you must have served on the board for at least one (1) term, not necessarily the previous term.


All members of the Board of Directors shall serve a term of one (1) year. No member of the Board of Directors shall serve in the same position for more than two (2) consecutive terms unless there are no other qualified nominees for the position to be held. However, the President may not serve more than two (2) consecutive terms.


The rest of the Board of Directors is made up of nine area reps. An area rep must be a resident, property owner, or business operator in the area they serve.


The nine areas are:

Area 1: The jetty north to and including the south side of Balboa Court;

Area 2: The north side of Balboa Court to and including the south side of San Gabriel Place;

Area 3: The north side of San Gabriel Place to and including the south side of Ventura Place;

Area 4: The north side of Ventura Place to and including the south side of San Luis Obispo;

Area 5: The north side of San Luis Obispo to and including the south side of San Juan Place;

Area 6: The north side of San Juan Place to and including the south side of Santa Clara Place;

Area 7: The north side of Santa Clara Place to and including the south side of San Jose Place;

Area 8: The north side of San Jose Place to and including the south side of San Rafael Place;

Area 9: The north side of San Rafael Place to and including Pacific Beach Drive.
