Happy July,

The Board and General Membership meetings of the Mission Beach Town Council will not meet in the month of July.

On July 4th

The Annual First Responders Luncheon sponsored by the Mission Beach Women's Club and Mission Beach Town Council will be held at the Police Command Center south of Belmont Park. Pre-packaged snacks and fruit that First Responders can take with them on patrol are needed.

A special thanks to the 120 to 150 officers that will be working long hours over the holiday weekend to protect our community!

20th Annual Mission Beach 4th of July Bike Parade.

We are thrilled to announce that Ocean Park Inn and the Pacific Beach Town Council have partnered again for our 3rd annual fundraiser dedicated to improving our beloved beaches! Thanks to Ocean Park Inn and our other 2025 matching donors, each contribution will go FIVE times as far!

Learn about this year’s campaign

As part of celebrating 2025 as the Year of the Lifeguards, our 2025 campaign is focused on beach safety and aims to raise $20,000 to install new rip current signage all along our coast. With these critical signs, we can alert and inform thousands of visitors and locals alike to dangerous rip currents which will prevent accidents, save lives, and assist our hard-working lifeguards.

Rip currents are channelized currents of water flowing away from shore at surf beaches. They typically form at breaks in sandbars, and also near structures such as jetties and piers. The United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) reports that rip currents account for over 80% of rescues performed by surf beach lifeguards. It’s also noted that there are over 100 deaths each year in the U.S. attributed to rip currents.

To help us reach our goal, not only is Ocean Park Inn a major partner of this campaign, but other local businesses such as Firehouse PB, Belmont Park, OMG Hospitality Group, and The Surfer Beach Hotel are all generously joining our mission.

Thanks to our generous 2025 matching donors, every dollar you give will be matched 5-to-1! That means your contribution — big or small — goes five times as far in helping us reach our goal and enhance safety along our shared coastline.
